About Chiang Rai
Muang Chiang Rai is the capital city of Chiang Rai Province. Chiang Rai is the northernmost large city in Thailand. It was established as a capital city in the reign of King Mangrai, in 1262 CE. Chiang Rai lies on the bank of the river Kok and the town’s population is about 62.000.
